It was quite a good hotel for an Assistant Manager (Sales) of an insurance company, and I could at times take some benefits out of few “perks”. A similar kind of a situation happened recently. Branson is one of his kind, a British quintessence and an entrepreneur and surely an intelligent person who could talk against the lifestyles and cultures of the British. Branson has been very modest narrating about himself and his adventures, all through the book. Branson has written his memoir in a confessional manner like most present-day memoirists, which has let him write in a manner which generally a novel will not. The people who are least interested in business also would find the book worth reading, and the reason being that his perceptions are outstanding and that too with pleasant style of writing. One of the critics had remarked that the book cannot be put down at all though it is a heavy one.

The book has been written in a sequential manner with chapters having thought provoking headings. The book is quite fast and has honesty about itself, which at times is insignificant. Branson talks a lot about himself, and also tells us how passionate he is about music, in the middle of the book. He is also passionate about adventures which are experiences where he had a close shave with death.  Branson also details about his being quite brave about ballooning which he finds an invigorating sport.  The Guinness Book of World Records has his name, which pays tribute to his brave heart.

Branson’s book is a fresh book of fiction which has narrations of bravery and makes you want to get away from the tradition.  Branson had started a magazine for the students at 16, then went on to music, which was a success. Branson feels sad talking about the point when he was almost compelled to give away Virgin Records to Thorn EMI so that he could keep Virgin Atlantic Airways above troubled waters.  After a long struggle, Branson has set up an empire – Virgin Group has it all what a man would need in his day to day life – Virgin Cola, Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Mega stores, Virgin Brides, Virgin Vie, and the list goes on.  Branson has not given up; now he wants to fly people to space too.

I would not like to tell you further as that would spoil the essence of reading it. I can of course say that “Losing My Virginity” is an inspiration, is a real story which has to be told by the man himself. The book has become so reputed that it has a synonym to it – What they don’t teach you at Business Schools. One could say that it is a recollection of life and its highs and lows, woven with the stories related to politicians, rock stars and of course friends and few enemies.

The books does not have a moral, nor does it have any grandfatherly advice for the young ones, but it would leave all readers with a depth of awe, and a continuous pondering over all that Branson has experienced, which are highly enriching. One gets to know on reading this book that a single person can achieve almost anything and all you need to do this is aptitude and good ideas. “Losing My Virginity” is one of the most popular autobiographies because it has real life experiences that too narrated in a book, which is quite captivating.

Obama on 4th July, 2011, announced about his plan for reelection (2012) during a rally in North Carolina. As the event began, Secret Service agents prevented Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi to appear on stage. Later the White House explained the incident by saying that one of the interns made this mistake.
